This is a space for me to share the things I love with like minded people. I love all things beauty, fashion, lifestyle and home. I wanted to create a space to be creative, to write, and to enjoy the simple things.
When I first saw the very simple quote from Andy Warhol “I like boring things” I really related. First of all, I love Andy Warhol, and really any quote by him I just love. And I’m sure I don’t take the same meaning from it that Warhol did, but I truly do LOVE boring things. And really, to me they’re not “boring”. I just enjoy everyday things, like my home decor, casual fashion, books and skincare, etc. I like things that bring me peace, not more chaos.
Here you’ll find musings about all the little things that I enjoy. I love sharing my beauty favourites – I’m product OBSESSED, and I also work in the beauty field for my job, so as you can imagine I have a ton of products and even more opinions to share about them! I also love fashion. I would describe my style as everyday and casual, with an emphasis on including elevated basics into my wardrobe for a timeless look. My fashion sense and home decor style have a lot of overlap – I mostly gravitate towards calm neutrals, soft textures, and timeless designs. I love blending old and new, incorporating vintage and antiques in with more modern decor.
I also refer to myself as a certified homebody because I am NOT a going out girl. My favourite days are ones spent at home, with a candle lit, sitting under a blanket with a book or a movie on, or playing some cozy video games! I love making my space clean and peaceful, and decorating with beautiful things that make me feel calm and happy. Home decor has always been an interest of mine – even as a kid I was obsessed with HGTV and that love of homes and decor never left me. I’m holiday obsessed, so while my regular decor tends to be more timeless and classic, I absolutely will be decorating for the holidays months in advance.
This space is a huge mix of everything I love because it’s too hard for me to pick just one topic or category to share about.
I love the concept of “romanticizing my life”. I read a ton of fantasy, and watch a ton of movies (especially my comfort movies) and I had a realization that there is no reason I can’t treat my life as it’s own little fantasy. No, I don’t have a gorgeous fae man rescuing me and taking me to his realm where we fall in love, but honestly i’m (sort of…) okay with that. I can still romanticize my life, and enjoy making the little moments meaningful and aesthetic. I LIVE for making mundane things aesthetic, and curating things in a visually beautiful way. I got a comment on tiktok the other day by someone who said “your life looks so cozy” and honestly, it IS! Like yes, of course it’s not this perfectly aesthetic life – no one’s is – but romanticizing the little moments has really let me enjoy and soak in the small moments at home with a candle lit, some intentionally laid out snacks and a movie on.
